Hermagor-Presseggersee is located in the south of Carinthia and lies close to the beautiful PresseggerSee. This town has about 7,000 inhabitants and offers all kinds of amenities, such as shops, supermarkets, cozy restaurants, and terraces where you can sit and relax.
The area is characterized by beautiful nature, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. There are various hiking and cycling trails that take you past impressive mountain landscapes and through the green Gail Valley.

Hermagor is also known for the tourist destination Nassfeld, popular for both winter sports and summer holidays, as well as the rare Wulfenia carinthiaca alpine flower. In addition, you will find traditional crafts here, and the area is famous for its Gailtal bacon. Culture, nature, and history come together here, so there is always something to discover.

The Presseggersee is truly a hidden gem, tucked away between mountains and forests in the south of Carinthia, close to Italy. This warm lake – sometimes reaching 28 degrees in summer! – is perfect for swimming or boating. It is located near Hermagor, right in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve that has been protected since 1970. Here you can enjoy plenty of sunshine and an almost Mediterranean atmosphere.

From adventurous gorges to challenging mountain peaks in the Carnic Alps. Highlights include the spectacular Mauthner Klamm, the family-friendly Gartnerkofel (Nassfeld), the panoramic Gailtaler Höhenweg and the historic Karnische Höhenweg. A real highlight is the spectacular Garnitzenklamm (gorge)

Fancy a relaxing walk? Then the Slow Trail around the Weissensee is perfect for you! You’ll walk about 8 kilometers along peaceful paths and pass beautiful, quiet spots with views of the mountains. Extra tip: make your walk even more fun with a boat trip on the lake.

The trail is about 6 kilometers long and starts at the Hermagor beach. Take your time, pause often, and enjoy nature together with your family! 

For adventurers, the Karnische Höhenweg is highly recommended. This is a long hiking route along the mountain ridge, right on the border with Italy, offering views of the impressive Dolomites. Don’t worry: you don’t have to walk the entire route, you can also just do 1 or 2 day stages.

The Weissensee is located in the southwest of Carinthia and is truly a sight to behold! This mountain lake is almost 12 kilometers long and nearly a kilometer wide. Because it sits at about 1,000 meters above sea level, water lovers can enjoy swimming in the highest lake in Carinthia.
You’ll be surrounded by stunning mountains and pure nature. Whether you want to hike, cycle, skate, or simply relax by the water: it’s all possible here. The lake is super clean—you can even drink the water!

Swimming, boating, paddleboarding, fishing, or just chilling on the beach, you’ll never be bored here for a moment.

Located right on the beautiful Wörthersee – the largest lake in the region. Since 2007, the city has been officially called Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. The city center is truly charming; you’ll find beautiful, old courtyards filled with lovely restaurants, cafés, and trendy shops.

The well-known Alter Platz is a long square with splendid houses from the Renaissance period. If you walk a bit further, you’ll reach Neuer Platz. There you’ll find the famous Lindwurmbrunnen: an impressive fountain from 1583 featuring a statue of a lindworm, a mythical creature that resembles a dragon with snake-like features.
